One person is building this.

Veil was not built by a company. The code, the design, and the writing and rewriting of every scripture note and prayer are done by one person, Hyeonsu Hwang. Anything you send goes only toward keeping that work from stopping.

Where things stand

• One person runs it

  Veil is operated by Hyeonsu Hwang as an individual. It is not a company and not a registered business. More detail is on the operator page.

• Everything so far has been paid out of pocket

  Domain, servers and database costs have come from personal money. There is no team and no investment.

• The scripture and meditations are not machine-produced

  Every passage, meditation and prayer in a response is written and revised by hand. That is where most of the time goes.

Where the money goes

• Domain and hosting
• Honoraria for pastors who review the scripture and meditations
• Compute used to measure response quality
• Whatever else it takes to keep the service open

Anything left over rolls into next month's running costs. It is not spent on hiring or advertising.

How to support

Both routes above settle into a Korean bank account. If you are outside Korea and want to send something, email us and we will work it out — there is no international payment page yet, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Before you send anything

• This is not a church offering. Veil is not a church or a religious organisation. Please do not redirect a tithe or an offering here.
• It is not tax-deductible. We cannot issue a donation receipt.
• Hyeonsu Hwang receives it personally. A single Veil-only account is used, kept separate from personal living expenses.

Money is not the only way

• Telling us when a response reads wrong helps most. Send feedback
• If you are a pastor, you can help review the scripture and meditations. Join the review
• We are looking for people to build this with, and open to investment conversations. Talk to us
• Passing the link to someone who might need it is enough.
